A14 SECTION 1

Date: Wed 19th September 2018

Below is an end terminal on DCB (concrete barrier) in the central reserve of the A14, section 1.

This is where the concrete barrier ends and meets the steel VRS barrier. A cage is constructed out of Hi Tensile steel and embedded in a concrete base at a 240 mm depth. Two cradle anchors are then attached to the cage and this is then shuttered with in-situ timber form work. Concrete with a strength of C 45/55 is then poured inside. Once this is struck it will leave a square end for the CRS to be securely attached to.
